Which parts of West Palm Beach are nice, which parts of it are dangerous?

The cost of living is slightly above the national average. Is this basically just a rich and poor town? Would a $600 apartment be alright in West Palm Beach? (here in Minneapolis a studio or one bedroom should be fine)
