Yes, you can. Meet with the broker, tell him it is not working out and that you would like to cancel your contract. If he gives you any grief (usually they do not because it is one of the worst business moves possible), inform him that you will write OP-ED letters to the local newspaper about your bad experience and his refusal to remedy the situation by canceling before it got any worse for you as the client.
