I need some extreeme help on adding vectors. plz help?

in order to get the answer to this you must find the TOTAL horizontal distance and the TOTAL vertical distance and then use those as the components to solve the vector using the Pythagorean Theorem. For this question it is not that difficult seeing as how when the clown runs north there is no horizontal distance and when he runs east there is no vertical distance. So you solve the vertical and horizontal components for when he runs 3.5m NofE and find the total horizontal and vertical. To do this you use 3.5sin55 (3.5) to solve vertical and 3.5cos55 (.08) to find horizontal. Add the verticals 3.5+8= 11.5, and the horizontals .08+5+5.8. Then it is 11.5squared + 5.8squared = xsquared. The distance is 12.88 if I am correct and I hope I didn't screw up I didn't really check or look over my work
